Our meetings are lively, varied and interesting.   They usually take the form of a presentation by a guest speaker followed by tea and homemade cake and a lot of chatting.  These talks have included (or will) Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, Japan, The Kaffirs, Flower Arranging, Oscar Wilde, Dentistry in Africa and many others covering a wide range of interests

We have an annual outing in the Summer.  This year we went to Dorney Court, last year we went to Nuffield House and the previous year to the Magna Carta Flower Festival in Salisbury Cathedral. We have a weekly T'ai chi class and occasionally arrange walks.

We are planning meetings for those interested in doing or learning different crafts. We have a number of members with different skills such as sugar craft, crochet, tatting and other skills which they would love to share.  We are always open to ideas and would be happy to have suggestions from new or old members of the Institute. All meetings are held months second Thursday of the month at 2.00 pm.

The next meetings are:

Thursday 12th October:  Peter Austen talking about the Kaffirs of Cookham Dean, their history and activities.
Thursday 9th November:  Jan Guiver talking about The Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) which is affiliated to the Women's Institute.

The December meeting is a Christmas lunch for Members only.  All other meetings are open to visitors.
